what would you pay for a mk2 golf 1.3 cl - tax n tested (no advisorys) less than 56000 miles - have services and mots fsh to show this - no rust and very very tidy for 28 years old!! A reg - silver - very reliable and starts first time every time - no modifications - its like its a show room classic lol

im thinking its time to get a mk1 cab again…….. but wanted to see what people would pay for this before i advertise it x

there is a forum member on svag who paid more than £2.5k for a 1.6 driver…. with rust and filler tucked under the arches.

if it is as nice as your saying then its min price would be £1k IMO

I sold a 1.6 GL last year, to be fair it needed a clutch but was only on about 40K miles and had full s/h. It was a bit of a struggle to sell it and in the end I took £400.



I think you might do alright with it being a 1.3, low cc Mk1's are getting thin on the ground and prices are all over the place so a Mk2 would be a good start for younger drivers.

Thing you need to remember is that the mk2 isn't considered anything special like the mk1 so there's none of that 'cherished motoring history' bumf, it's just an old golf. You can get a mk4 1.4 with T&T for about £1k and it wont cost you any more in insurance.
