your current insurers should have the details of your previous insurers if you provided them with details of no claims etc.

:cheer:  I've got my husband back :cheer:

Why do you need to know Gaz? Is it for a new insurance company?

If so maybe they can source the information for you?

your new insurance company will know you'v claimed without you even telling them, theyl know who you were with, the verdict on the accident, date, time, the lot.
the insurance company all use the same data base to share information amongst one another on cars and drivers who hav had previous insurance, so if you phone up and dont tell them you hav claimed…they already know but they wont tell you ythey know they'l process what you tell them take your money each month and then when you hav an accident they will then send you a letter saying….sorry you insurance is invalid as you didnt make us aware you had an accident and claim on such and such date there for giving us incorrect details…..gt ehy did it to my m8, he was a fool for not telling them but when he phoned up and told them he'd bumped someones car parking they said they would send him a claim form, he got the form filled it out sent it back and almost immediately he got a letter saying the other company had been in touch about the incident but his own insurance also said we are sorry to inform you that the information you provided us for your policy is void as you hav withheld information regarding a previous claim with such and such company and have failed to provide us with correct information, he asked how they knew and they even told him it showed up on thier data base they all share, he asked well if you knew that why did you continue to let me take out the policy and take my money for a policy you knew you considered void, they told him its up to you to provide us with correct information so as we can cover you with the right policy and warned him basicly he could take the matter further but withholding information or giving icorrect details and information is considered as fraudulant……….basicly saying thanks for your money for the past 6months, sort the accident out your self and if you take it further we'l take it further with you under fraud….good bye.

this was a few yrs back but they do still use this data base im sure if you ask them nicely they would be able to find it out, if your honest with them and tell them you have lost all the information so cant provide it they will hav to source it or find it out so   they can provide the right cover

Given the above, you could just say "can't remember" but let them know a claim occurred. From the basic description, if you were banged in the rear then its normally not your fault anyway. So you'll be okay.
