Power differences

sorry for sounding novice like lol, just a quicky.

was wondering the differences between the 1800 gti engine and the 1800 carb?

power differences?
drivability differences?
tuning potential?

if the car is already running a carb set up would this engine be good for bolting on some weber 40/45's? and would this give a improved bhp increase over the gti engine?

I think I'm right in saying that the injection engine has a hotter cam, and that combined with the fuel injection gives you the extra power.

If you're modifying a 1.8 carb engine then all you need to do is swap the camshaft for the GTi one, and bolt on a weber or two, and you should see a substantial power increase.

could be wrong but i'm sure the valves (at least the inlet) are smaller in the carb engine. could be wrong mind
