Picked Up a MK1 Golf South African Import

Picked up the above on Sunday.

Apart for a few bits & Bobs needed it is a great car. Although do need to change the Speedo.

Its a 96 Model. Need to sort out a few Bits but its a cool car

Ah ok! there's another one in Berkshire (unless it was about to be sold to you !)

I do like that colour.. just personal preference is 3 door

don't they have the same dash as a Mk3 Polo? should be easy to change the clocks over if that's the case  :wink:

No i picked it up from East London.

You are the 1st 1 who has said he likes the colour.

It has the same dash as the MK1 Golf & not the Polo.
Where the Rev counter is i have a clock (watch)

If i were to fit a new Speedo set with Rev counter in it will be be too much work to get the reve counter to work.

Thought it might be wise to get some advise from the experts.

Anyway i will show it to you when we meet up next Wed

might have been the Citi model that had the mk3 Polo dash (or I'm losing the plot and filled my brain full of rubbish! ops: ).. I'll dig out the article and check at some point

phil later citis have polo dash mate and later injection engines (mk3 golf) i kinda like the colour

p.s the clocks will work just same and get a decent suspension kit for it and you will enjoy it a lot more

I reckon the colour's more of a grower than an immediate hit - maybe a bit like Lhasa which I'm beginning to think is pretty cool  

Phil - this other Citi-Golf you've seen around Reading - is it red with white writing on the doors and the boot? I've seen that about several times over the last year or so
