Origional dealer plates?

Hi,i was looking at my mk1's today,admiring the view  :mrgreen:  and noticed the reg plates on my diesel,they are still origional from when new,question is-
What is the name and location of the dealer? is it still there today?

Jaffar international Redditch Now a fiat dealer    :doh:  on the GX
Jaffar on the citi (made plates for me)

mines  diesel too and its and import aswell did they ever make a british diesel or are they all imports?  havn't looked at my plates yet will post when looked

Mine say Sheppards of Bishops Stortford.  They're still there and still sell VW's

mines says wykehams ltd

and they only now sell morgans which was a suprise :dontknow:

Funny you asked that rov716y,all the mk1 diesels i have owned have been 'previously used overseas'
so i guess that most of them were imported????

i live in kingswinford. i think we met at gaydon last year bert, i drive  blue x reg diesel with a lucas pump thats was a van

My Golf C plates have VW Dovercourt, Plaistow Rd, London on them. According to the VW website they're no longer there. Have to look at my GTI has a black back plate for the rear plate with a German dealer on it (car was rhd import).

Both my golfs have the originals on, the driver still has the dealer sticker in the rear window!! 8O

I had the original sloan of edinbrough plates on mine but have taken them off and replaced them with replica ones (so still have dealer name on them)

And ive just checked, sloan of edinbrough still sells VWs!
