Opening ceremony at Gaydon

I have just watched Top Gear (12/6/05) and have just seen Clarkson attend an opening ceremony for a swimming pool. As his jesture to the occasion he drove the old Roller into the pool, swam to the side, climbed out and declared the pool open!! I don't think Chipping Norton expected that!! The presenters said that they got loads of requests every week to undertake these kind of functions so I got to thinking….

If we got Jeremy to open for us at Gaydon, what mayhem would he come up with…….

To emulate the Mk1 TV advertisement where the Mk1 is dropped from above, he would drop a (hopefully rusted-out) Mk1 from a helicopter hovering about 300 feet above Gaydon - the impact would be the declaration of the meet being open...

No MK1 deserves that!

How about a display team show with handbrake parking, driving on 2 wheels, syncronised stunts etc……..?

I like Dubboy's suggestion. If dropping a Mk1 expect loads of people standing by with tools to strip any useful bits afterwards !
Must make an effort to get to Gaydon if it's grand enough for an 'opening ceremony' (!)

Drew was going to ask his old mate, Jezza to open Gaydon for us when he met him a few weeks ago. Any news on this yet Drew?
