On the road at last!!!!!!

HELLO FOLKS
just a little note to let you kmow how my mk1 has been progressing
its now has an m.o.t  8O
and the 16v has been binned in favour of a g60 corrado lump that came up cheap (?450 +vat for the lump charger loom ecu and gearbox. . . bargin!)the charger has been uprated as well as the intercooler and alot of the pipe work as it didn't fit !! all fun and games
it's also now got corrado leather out of the same g60 ,
as yet its only been to the vw meet at santa pod where it reterned a 15.o8 on the 1/4 mile but at the time it had a miss fire so i retired it early to prevent another phone call to the aa (lousy mk2!) hopefully here are some pictures

is it rusty???

is it over priced??

YES!!!

i'm on my way over to pick it up

I am Sooooooo green with envy now!

that's almost exactly how I want to get mine! G60 with BBS's or Ronal turbo's!…

Back to the drawing board! it's hard to think of something original on a 23 year old car! everything's pretty much been done already!

Anyway top car. you must be well chuffed with it! :notworthy:

That looks awesome…. My mouth is watering over here ;) That conversion is really appeling. So sweet with power at low revs :).

Hmmm should sure be nice to have that one under the hood :) The only problem here in sweden is getting through the M.O.T with that engine, but I reckon that with the blower (and perhaps IC) removed it should not be any obvious "mischief" under the hood ;). So I?m now wondering if it is possible to drive it without the G-lader (not having to create a new chip for that setup)? And also getting sensible exhaust emissions?

Yes it is possible to do the conversion legal, but that is a lot of paperwork and some ?3-400 just to get that paperwork sorted :(.

Cheers

Yes it did !  and yes i have but unfortunatly not on the web which is a bit of a shame ,it was bought as a cheep hack for ?120+ a mk2 gti box , i thought patch up the sills sling the engine back together cheap motor :y:
how wrong can you be !!!!
its had new inner /outer sills ,new inner/ outer rear wheelarch's ,new wings , tilt slide roof , rear chassis rail o/s repaired ,new rear lower valance (couldn't find a rear pannel at the time so it was repaired to the best we could achive ) n/s/f shock turet repaired + various other smaller patches
got some very scary pictures of the sill repairs

its not a campain so i wasn't too woried bout keeping the origional colour

i'll bring the pictures i've got along to gaydon just look for A ***FFU
thats me ,

mike sorry to seem a little daft here but a g60 less the g-ladder is errr trying to put this nicely, somewhat useless  you'd be better off with the 8v you have as the g60 block has low comp pistons (bout 8-1 someone correct me where i'm wrong )which would give you less power , can i suggest an audi 2.0 9a block with your existing head &injection system .it may need a bit of setting up but this will make it look bog standard ,a mate of mine had one in a mk1 nd it was a little rocket ship!!!

Sorry did?nt explain myself so good. The idea was to remove it just before MOT and then remount when the car has passed it 8O :). In my head that seemed as a simple job, if the car is drivable without it, and exhaust emissions are ok.
