old skool dubber finding the love back

Hi all its been a very long time since ive been on here, ive been looking through old vw mag's, photo's and some very old video's going to gti inters way in 1999!!!TRL happy days lol god how the vw scene has changed, i even found the very first copy of PVW this has got me getting the love back, not that i lost it, but work, family,kids take over and it hard, christ i used to go to gti international for the weekend every year!! and all the other major vw shows


started looking back at all the car that paved the way for me loving MK1 as a 18yr old lad back in 1999
Asim's is a big one lhasa green mk1,last time we spoke it was stripped down any new asim lol ??
also jeremy hillocks mars red one love that car and the time me the few times me and jeremy have spoke we always have spoke about the legend that is Brian Ricketts is BR motorservices still going?
also a chap that had a similar mars red one micheal i think??
 amie fanagans heloius blue mk1 campaign, which was later owned by kim newbury,
another favorite was a chap called Sat phagura's with a silver G60 mk1 campaign(A596 GLX lovely motor. a
lso A100UOM anybody remember that one??? low mileage heloius blue campaign
is my first mk1 still kicking around?? DRE 161Y?
they say mk1 get under your skin and its true i got into them over 16yrs ago and still love em now!!

plan to get to some shows this year defo the AGM this year last one i think i went to was back in 2007 :/

No worries . Always nice to look back at some of the old shows. Remember when dub sport ian birch ?  Used ti bring out twin engine  versions :-)  ufo  and big dub 

ha lol yeah now we are talking the orange dubsport mk1 too lol wonder what MR Birch is doing with himself these days??? maybe he too is retired in france with Mr Tim stiles?? GTI Inters used to be THEE show the one i look forward too, ah well nothing stays the same forever hey, i used to love the drive up to berkshire from Devon, stop in a hotel up at the crack of dawn drive to the show seeing nice cars lol happy days

Good old days :-)

I myself used to look forward to GTI International every year around the turn of the century (makes me sound Victorian).  Just got myself a mk1 back in January and looking forward to getting it back on the road ASAP.  I've attached some pics of our group's trip up to GTI International in what I think is '99.  Mine was the black mk1 in the middle….
