Oh Deer!!

Firstly let me apologise… Christmas may be a bit late this year as Santa's sleigh may be pulling to one side…. he's now one reindeer down…..!!!

 I ran into Rudolf in my Vectra last night!!!

Anyone else hit a deer!?!?  They're bloody big and do a LOT of damage… I wouldn't recommend it!!! 8O

Weird story… Left work to go and pick up a nice campaign steering wheel in need of re-leathering thus saving the ?10 on P&P…. on the way… two deer ran out… I slammed on the anchors…. then.. the one at the back sort of stopped and decided to go all "Kamakazi" on my ass.. I could see the whites of his eyes and the crazy look… just before he ran straight for my car… HEAD ON  8O  8O !!  A few screetching tyres.. and brown under-crackers later… Rudolf is no more…. he didn't leave this world for nothing though… he took a front light, grill and bonnet with him  :roll:  …. so…. moral of the story… just pay the damn ?10…. save the ?200 in repairs and you could also go some way to NOT destroying Christmas!!! :naughty:

you can't pick it up and take it home but the guy behind you could.
christmas is saved kiddys were having venison for tea.

i know how u feel i ran 1 down his ass end went over my bonnet roof and then ran off no damage watsoever to the car heres a list of other animals ive run over im so unlucky:

1 deer
3 pheasents
3 rabbits ( all killed purposly as they had mixemitosis)
4 cats
2 dogs (1 proper died the other broke its back but lived)

I hit a cow in Australia, I say a cow, it was more a wall of beef.  I came round a corner doing about 80mph to see a heard of cows across the road ahead, slammed on the anchors and skidded down to about 30mph.  The one I thought I was going to hit ran off to the side and this scared another right into my path.

Cow hit passenger side front corner, rolled up the bonnet, head snapped around the drivers A-pillar and smashed the window onto my lap and then departed over the roof leaving a big dent.

That wrote off a Volvo 244, be grateful you've only got a repair to do!

funny that my list is similar,
from that one trip alone, cow, kangeroo, wedged-tailed eagle (very scary - they kill lots of people as they are so slow to take off and smash through the windscreen and kill the driver) wombat, snake and  a large lizard.  
The only one I felt sorry for was the wombat as they only move really slowly and I reversed over it in a layby.

Ok I'm feeling as though I haven't done enough…. That and a rabbit is all I've hit!?!?!  :dontknow:  :dontknow:  

How much are bull bars for a vectra… I'm going to have me some Aberdeen Angus burgers tonight!!!

Maybe I should have been more caring and strapped him to my bonnet to take him to the vet…. but what if THIs happened!!:-

I hit a massive owl in New Zealand

Driving home at night, just got to the crest of this hill and it was there, just taking off - BANG

didn't do much damage to the car, but I am pretty sure that was the owls last day

it's classed as hunting.
however the guy in the car behind you is.

The only thing I've killed is a pidgeon. I was in a double decker bus at the time so I was quite chuffed.

As far as protection goes, try this guy's van from oz, he does a fair bit of driving round the bush.

i hit a pigeon in my old mk2 when i got to work it was hanging out the grill so i took the grill of and left if at work in the carpark got some real funny looks

blood and guts all over the place

i did something simuler!  hmm ?10 postage or ?5 diesel to collect.  and got pulled doing 77 in a 50 and got a ?60 fine and 3 points.  just pay the postage.  i did hit a pheasent in the work truck ( i went on the grass to hit it) took it home and cooked it.  best meat i've ever had cant beat a bit of game!!!
