Well, just how many Mk1s are left?

Well some data on Mk1s currently registered in Germany show the number falling rapidly  :cry: . Luckily, we seem to be hitting a plateau for the die hard enthusiasts keeping the LEGEND alive  

I split the data into 2 charts as the volumes for the 1.1, later 1.5 and low output 1.6 diesel are a lot higher than the rest. Remember the high output 1.6 diesel (the GTD) was not officially sold in the UK.

Hope you can make out the data (split by engine). The hardest line to see is the pinky one in the second chart showing around 2800 1.8 GTis in 2005. For UK, one could assume a quarter of the numbers in Germany.
