I found it whilst cruising through the ads in the for sale section and thought it was worth a look. The previous owner is a real enthusiast and he looked after it well. A real credit to him. So if you're reading….
cheers Matt.
Car has covered 93500 and still has 90% of it's original paintwork, looks like one of the wing has been resprayed at some stage. Has a aftermarket grille which I think I will change for the original at some stage. It's a vw and I like to see the badge on the front. Also has a supersrint exhaust on it, It plays quite a pleasant tune so I rekon that can stay. The chap had recently replaced the roof for a mohair one and kindly passed on the guarantee for that. A quality stereo had been installed but apart from that it seems standard, with the original sportsline steering wheel!.
After a bit of haggleing
I picked it up for which I didn't think was too bad after carefully reading through all the point to look for in the cabby buyers guide(a very handy document thanks).
TBH I wasnt really looking for a sportline cause i never thought i'd find one up for sale. Started out looking for a black or helios blue gti but when I saw this I just had to go have a butchers.
I have one problem… I've recently ordered my club polo shirt with the tin top logo, so I guess I'll be needin to order another. And I'm now a Club Membership sticker short too (hint hint).
As for volksfest i'll think it'll be the cabby, got a bit of worklined up for the campaign so now I reckon i'll crack on with that.
