New Golf Project

New member here and I've bought my first Mk1 golf last week, A white 1989 Golf Gti Karman Convertible. Quite proud I am..

Changing the white standard roof to a new black on wednesday. Want to slowly recondition the 8valve engine beginning next week. Would like advice on a list of what should be done and the priority I should do them in.

Looking at a 3month project to have it all in order by spring. Thoughts?

Best of luck with the "3 month project" thats exactly what I said 7years ago and I still have loads to do 8O

I found the club discount schemes very handy for parts etc and the how to do guides were invaluable for me (and still are) :redfaced:

I've no idea about the club discount scheme.. I'll have a search about here to further familiarize myself.

Going to order a set of NGK Iridium spark plugs (if I can find any) and some leads next week.

Have a look at the top left (become a paid member) I use GSF quite a lot for parts, oil etc and get a club discount of 10% so it pays for itself.

It gives a list of suppliers etc I got a discount on my classical ins as well   think its up to 15%.
