mysterious leak

hi all ……wondered if anyone can help me, im having a problem with water leaking into my 83 gti in the passenger foot well? it seems to come from behind the dash. ive checked the window seal, drain holes and my coolant level not dropping enough to explain the amount of water in the car.. any ideas?

Its usually the 2 drain plug grommets in the scuttle try that get leafs and muck in them make sure you can push your fingers right through them till you see you finger out the other side through the cross rubber grommet

other than that matrix leaking but you would be able to smell it

Cabby or tin top?

tin top with abit of filler …just had the sunroof removed in a bid to keepthe wet stuff out…

both bungholes clear fella !!!! could water get in through the heater?mesh under the plastic water deflector in the scuttle tray?

check for holes in you bulkhead where screws may have been in the past.  Mine had an alarm removed and left me with a couple of holes.. Get someone to shine tourch in while you look up behing your dash (a bit awkward).  or possibly rubber washers perished on screws still in.
