MR Darlings Budget and the motorist

Just taxed my car on line before Mr Darling does his budget this afternoon .  

Will we be better off ?   :dontknow:  8O Or will it be  :boohoo:

Prob another ?5-10, couple of pence on fuel. Yip best taxing just before, because they'll give you the same thing at the pre-budget rate. Not sure what you're taxing for - March? You can't renew current car tax until 2 weeks before its due; and you can't apply for next month's tax if the car is SORNed, until just 2 days before the start of that month.

Just taxed mine on line for 1 April 2008 start .

Says on the renewal notice 'that rates of duty were correct at time of printing' If rates change in the Budget a new rate applies , earliest you can apply on line is 15.03.08 ? Its only the 12 th    :?

Maybe the on line service is different ?

Maybe they changed it or its different then?  :dontknow:

one things for sure if we ALL went and bought a horse and cart the country would be brought to its knees in a month!

What i still find the most depressing thing about tax is that……

I am taxed on what i earn

I then pay tax on anything i buy with the money that i earnt that im taxed on!

and where exactly is the value to me? in adding 17.5% VAT to everything aswell!!!!

I Think the Gypsys have the right idea to be fair

non off them we are older than 2001 so don't fit in a band.
