Mk2 Golf Owners' Club

Hi Folks

I know a few of you have mk2 Golfs aswell as mk1s, so i thought this may be of interest.  I'm setting up a Mk2 Golf Owners club, site is under construction and will be up and running in the new year. This is a FREE site to all owners'/enthusiasts of the mk2 Golf from models C, through to GTI, Rallye and G60. The aim is preservation, restoration and arranging regional meets. There will be a link to the forum from the main page. I will give more details shortly.

Please let me know if anyone is interested.  I hope i don't get shot for posting this

Yep, but they aren't a mk2 Golf owners' club, and cater for all vdubs.  This site will be just for Golf mk2 models.  Plus they seem to be mainly modified mk2s.  I'm trying to set up a simular site to this.

i think you will struggle as theres so many already out there,

What sites are there out there SPECIFICALLY for mk2 Golfs :dontknow:

Yeah its going well.  The reason i'm setting up the site is because i couldn't find anything simular to this fine site for mk2s

There are tonnes of generic vw sites out there 8O

The mk1 is commin on crackin' :mrgreen: Should be completely restored soon plus new mot

I'd be interested to see if this takes off. How would you measure its success or failure?

I just want to get a few enthusiasts together.  Would be nice if we could arrange some regional meets.  Depends what you mean by sucess.  I'm a member of a forest-of-dean VW site and they only have 41 members, but its a successful club.  I'm aiming for a lot more than that though

It cost nothing to setup, just a fair bit of time.  If it doesn't take off i wouldn't class it as a failure.  Time will tell, but i'm sure a few people with mk2 Golf's here will join :wink:

we shouldn't see it a a rival site but one we could work together with as some aspects of the mk2 are either the same or similar. at least its not a ford site its it boys and girls.

Thanks for the support, i really appreciate it I would like to promote the mk1 owners club from my site.  There will be no competition and who knows it may take off :wink:

Was a Mk2 owner for 15 years until 2 weeks ago I'll join up and chip in with the techy stuff at some point, not much I dont know about 'em, especially the 16v.  Sure i'll get another one  :wink:

I'll join up fella, i have had 2 mk2's one still in lock up with original 48,000 on clock i'm 2nd owner, fully restored with some slight mods
Wouldn't see it as a rival sight, but if your clearly sicking to mk2 only, it would be of great benfit to all mk2 owners, mk2dublcub was good at start, until he went all vw.
When i got the mk1 i were looking for a mk1 site only and couldn't believe this one was ONLY mk1 and it shows, how it is run, alll knowledge recieved and  given is easy to relate to as everyone has the same car
Even thou mk2 is not on rouad, i will give advice as much as i can to help others.
