Mk1s in Japan

im out here at the mo and have seen a few german motors, saw the mk5, a few times, plenty of mk4 and mk3, one mk2 today then just when ithought there wasnt much chance of seeing any of our favourites, i spotted this clipper cab in kamakura. a beautiful seaside city just south west of tokyo.

anyone ever been to japan? it is AWESOME, if anyone knows of any mk1 related stuff going on out here let me know as id love to get some more pics

Interesting that the cabby above is LHD. It doesn't have the US running lights, so it might be a European (or Asian) import…

Don't forget that, according to the old ad: "Golf is No.1 best selling imported car in Japan!" (cue Mars Red Mk1 being dropped    )

I can add to the worldwide section, just got back from South African honeymoon so will post up some pics in the next few days of what I spotted   (MK1s that is, unless people are interested in whales, Nelson's prison cell, flat topped mountains etc etc).

Also went to Mauritus and didnt see any :cry:

I think that from now on everyone should attempt to photo the different or unusual from around the MK1 world whilst on their travels…..

I'm off round the Med next week so I'll see if I can spot any in Greece, Spain, Italy etc…
