membership upgrade

I have just  paid my £20 to become a member finally but I can't see any difference with regards the site I can access and the home page still says I can become a paid member have I missed doing something  , my  payment has gone from my paypal, any ideas.

looks like it there has been a problem somewhere you should have "paid member" under your name, access to other bits of the forum too, send a message to Dave user name "Ginner" he is membership secretary and will be able to help you out

I think it just takes a bit of time mate for the admins to update your account status.

Don't think it's done automatically by the forum

It is all fully automated and should happen in the time that it takes PayPal to send the Instant Payment Notification out.

You cancelled the recurring Payment with PayPal - currently the site takes that as a subscription cancelled and removes you from the Paid Members group instantly - I have a fix for this, that waits for the 12 month expiry, that I have not had time to apply/test yet - most members are happy for the recurring Payment to be left set up.

I have created a manual transaction to get your paid member status back.

woops, looks like it was my fault, I cancelled the recurring payment as I don't like things just waiting to take money out without me saying so and I would prob forget about it then wonder where me money had gone, I take it its all sorted now ? will this also sort the membership pack to be sent out too as I will want to get some discount for some parts. thanks for the help guys.

So all paid members now have the £20 for renewal taken out of paypal automatically without being notified?

That was the same for the old site - its just that for the majority it did not work properly - yet another reason why we moved away from it.

PayPal should send out an email after each renewal telling you that the recurring subscription has been paid.

You do have the choice to cancel the recurring subscription after it has been setup with PayPal - I have now added the tweak so it will not remove you from the Paid Members group until the years subscription is up.

Yours will expire on the 30th July 2013 - what will happen is that I will manually expire it and you will get an email telling you so, with a link to renew - it is at this point the recurring subscription will be set up with PayPal.

If you had a recurring subscription to the old site you would of recently had an email saying that it had been cancelled - I had to do this because I kept missing them and the renewals were causing havoc with PayPal !!
