MEMBERSHIP UPDATE, PLEASE READ.

Folks,

A quick update on the membership side of things.

Rob, our current treasurer and membership secretary has found the workload a bit to heavy with his personal commitments. He will still be able to continue as the treasurer, but we are looking for a volunteer for managing the membership database. More of that in a minute. :wink:

For the moment I have switched off the online membership module until we get straightened out. The membership database is up to date for now, but there may be some folks who haven't received their information yet. If you fall into this category please mail membership vwgolfmk1 .org.uk with your full details and I will try to sort it out in the next two weeks. (I do have some holiday booked in this time so can't guarantee an immediate response.)

The role of the membership secretary involves two main things. Checking an email address and updating a spreadsheet, and then emailing out or sending membership packs. It's not too onerous, but gets very busy twice a year (renewals and major club events). You would need to be computer savvy and able to cope with printing stuff and mailing it (costs would be covered by the club obviously)
