Kamikaze pigeons
I thought my chances of hitting a pigeon on the motorway were limited, but two on virtually the same part of the road is baffling (and both ended with broken windscreens). Luckily the first one was in a works 7.5 tonne vehicle but the second was in my own car (not the golf ) and I have to pay the excess on this one.
A bit random I know but has anyone else lost their screens to the damn pigeons.

Mrslawsy had one in her lap once whilst on the motorbike
had a pheasant take the chin spoiler and dent the front valance on my mk1 the other week..
hit a pigeon in my A3 on the M4 once, it smacked right were the interior mirror is bonded and almost smashed the screen completlely….
where we live there are a few, we see them nearly every day swooping into the road in front of cars - must be the bird equivelant of kids playing chicken

So that'll be the birds 'playing kid' then :dontknow:
Once had to lever a starling out of the grill of a Vito. I'd hit it at about 80 on the M60, took quite a bit of effort, it was well jammed in!!
I no longer have the Mk1!! I now whizz round in a Black 1990 3dr Mk2 GTi 8v but the roof doesn't fold back when the sun shines

had a crow bounce off the very top of the windscreen in the focus luckily its a fair bit more angled back than the golf and did no damage.

I got a pigeon with a double decker bus, it dived down the front of the screen and all I saw was a puff of feathers in my mirror.
Yradave says relax.

Hit many pigeons in my wagon, never had anything smash though luckily, just big grey marks from the impact, had a couple pheasants too. My mate is winning the road kill stakes though, if anybody can beat a horse i'll be shocked!

i had a chicken that ripped off my bike indicator, a little black bird tried flying though my front wheel once and lost it's head.
and just the other day i had a pigeon hit the centre of the rocco window at 80 mph. no cracks or owt i was well chuffed, but it took some scrubbing to remove the pigeon shaped grease mark off the screen!
