Just bought a zinc plater!
I've just bought a zinc plating kit off ebay. It looks to be the best one there and it includes eveything I need to plate. So hopefully I can do all my engine bits and bobs, get them looking like new!

Thats the one I bought. It seems to be the best one on ebay. Itt'l be good though because I will be able to get all sorts of little things looking nice and new. Camber bolts, Airbox bracket, might even see if I can strip the outer casing off the alternator and do that! I'll post up some pictures when I have ahad a play with it and let you know how I get on!

Nice one Joe, looking forward to some pics. I used some acid metal restorer to strip clean some fixings at the weekend but used some Zinc rich galvanising spray paint to refinish them. I was thinking it would've been a much nicer and cleaner job with a plater!

Have a look at some of the Zinc plating I have done with my plating kit.
Can give you some tips if you like!

Finally got round to using this kit today. Below is a picture of the very first thing I zinc'd, looks quite good, but my prep let me down a little. This has been passivated with a gold coating, but I can also do blue and silver with the kit. If you polish the metal with wet n dry before zincing, it comes out like a chrome finish.

I bought this some time ago and still not got around to using it yet. Might have a go over the summer.
