Just bought a new tablet!!!JB is moving with the times

so after wanting an iPad for years today thought sod it and braved the shops in search for one

well I didn't walk away with an iPad I have gone for the Samsung note instead!

it ticked all the boxes I needed and cheaper than iPad

so far so good but

so what are you lot using?

Ipad 3 and mini. Far better than any Android tablet i have ever owned including the Samsung Note and the Nexus 7

Sorry you should have gone with your Heart on this one and got an Ipad

It isnt I have a ASUS Transformer when i got this about 3 months ago i was going to get the Ipad but the spec on this is higher it has a detachable keyboard with its own battery which boosts the pad battery life to way over 12 hrs and the andriod apps in my opinion are 1 cheaper if not free 2 more of and the development of Andriod apps alaways seems better.
This ASUS was cheaper or should i say more cost effective.
Apple will always have its followers and always will its called brand faithfulness and im just as guilty with my motorbikes (Honda} but it doesnt mean some Yamaha Bikes aint as good if not better as some are and thats life,

it was really hard in the shop to go for it but it seemed a better deal and more suitable for what i need it for

i love my iphone but pay over the odds for it, at renewel time i will be seriously considering a andriod phone after using this thing for the last hours

I bought Sophie an ipad for Chritmas. I find it a lot better that her old tablet.

Im still a Lap Top man myself. Its just I have to change it all the time to keep up with tech.

Her ipad is mint though and not subject to any virus's.

Kindle Fire best £99 I've spent in a while.

i do prefer a laptop but for surfing the web and portability tablets rule!

apple are just lossing its touch with me at the minute

the reviews of the mini and the new iphone 5 are really poor

i supose its all down to personal preference

It just is.  Easier to use. I got fed up with nexus saying that this device does not support this app ever time I went to the google marketplace!
Build quality is far superior. And customer service at apple is second to none. Resale value is better when you decide to upgrade.
Battery life is excellent and apps are fantastic. Especially GarageBand

another good thing about this Samsung it fully works with my smart tv which is brilliant

I am an Apple fan - so will find it hard to be objective on this thread !!

But to be honest it does not matter what you have as long as it suits your needs and you enjoy using it !!

I have an iPad 3, iPhone 4S and Mac Book Pro Retina (the work horse). I love how they are seamlessly connected. Give me Mac OSX any day over Windows.

Tablets are for consuming the web in the main and laptops/desktops are for writing it, would never dream of developing code on a tab.

This website ugrade that I am doing is all on my MBP, test importing posts as I type this on my iPhone !!!

Good buy Matt but you should of got an iPad !!!

i know you like your apple stuff ade

i only really us my iphone for emails, emergancy internet, photos and the occational facebook and game

all of which the samsung does at a smaller price tag than the ipad

i supose im just a tight git!!!

Mrs Early got an Ipad for Christmas. Never liked Apple due to them milking the market, her 10% staff discount sweetened the pill a little.

She thinks its brill, surfing websites in bed and watching TV/films. Just like she could with her netbook but never did?

That is just the point, the NetBoot would be slow to boot, cumbersome and still require some Windows type knowledge to get around. The iPad is simple,intuitive, always on and the battery lasts 10 hours !!

Not sure how you can accuse Apple of milking the market though, you pays your money and takes your choice, everyone has that right.

If anything Apple caused the market to up their game and quality to compete, the market has pretty much caught up now. It will be very interesting to see where it goes over the next couple of years.

Mrs Early is a good example of an Internet consumer - an iPad (or any tablet) is perfect for this !!

Yes captialism in action, Apple have good products and the zeitgeist of the moment and thus are able to charge a massive markup on their products. I just don't like to be made to feel I'm paying 50% over the competition. But I did and it was my free choice to do so.

Now shes becoming a Apple fan-girl next month she will be suckered into wanting the next version of the ipad that is exactly the same but in a different colour or slightly different shape. It's like American cars in the 50s……..

ive an ipad 2 and 3 now, but bought the littlen a samsung note,

i prefer the samsung for being more like a pc, things you can do, but its just a little juddery compared to the ipad

but for the money, ild have samsung now instead of the new ipad

iPad 3.  It's my second one.


Will be getting a windows 8 tablet next.
