Is this worth restoring?

Hi folks im writing to tell you about a Mk1 Golf ive come across.
I work for a recovery garage in Lancs who operate for the police(sorry!)
This morning i picked up a W reg Golf L,its green with only 66k on the clock and is totally original. The car was seized off the owner as he no insurance or tax,he said he bought the car from an old dear in Wigan who had owned since new.He told me he isnt interested in the car anymore as it has no current MOT either.I own a Mk4 GTI and a MK2 runout spec GTI so im a bit of a GTI enthusiast but i sense a cracking little resto in this car.Its 5 door in a very pale green colour, Wolfsburg steering wheel, original steel wheels with correct hub caps and locking nut covers.Original number plates front and rear, chrome trim bumpers. There is no radio fitted just a blanking tray as is there no aerial fitted.
Does anyone know about the spec of a Mk1 L Golf and are they rare on the scene? It will need the rear arches sorting and a respray to make near mint. The interior is spotless as is the rooflining. Thanks for reading this far as ive probably bored u to death but is it worth doing?
Cheers Richie

If it is a Series 2 (large rear lights), financially no if you pay someone for the works. If it is a Series 1 (small rear lights), then possibly.

From the sound of it the faults are purely cosmetic and it would make a nice runabout if it can be MOT'd cheaply.
