Is it just me or......

….is it really difficult to sell cars at the moment?

I have 2 for sale, 1 cabby plus another but not a sniff!!! I wouldn't mind if they were overpriced but both priced reasonably!!

What are the cars and the prices. It might help to get an independent view of the valuation, after all.

HI

One is an 87 GTI cabby in fair condition, there's a few bits that need doing, high mileage 171k but still going strong, asking £850 (listed in the for sale section on this website).

The other is a 51 plate Renaultsport Clio 172, only 13k and in spotless condition i.e. as new, asking 4k for it.

In addition to my question above…

With the Golf am I better off stripping out the interior etc. (car has a cream leather Rivage interior with all the wiring to convert to heated seats) and then selling the car as a shell with engine in place,, or leave it as a whole?

its a shame to break another mk1 it seams everyone is at it at the min. ther will soon be more of them in bits than cars left needing parts from them! try advertising in as meny places as you can it will sell especialy if you spend a bit of time on it.

Believe me when I say stripping her will kill me but I need to find funds quickly for another 'bigger' car as we've just had baby No.3 and neither car is very practical.

The only reason I'm considering doing this is because it strikes me that she's worth more in bits than as a whole, don't make sense really.

how many places are you advertising them in and which ones?

Gumtree, Preloved, Pistonheads.

The Golf has been on Ebay but all I got where clowns offering silly money or not turning up.

The Clio is also on Frenchcar forum and Club Clio.

Stick it in the local Auto Trader and see what happens. And yes, the cabby is probably worth more in bits than together, but there's a lot of work/hassle in breaking a car and selling it piecemeal. Imagine the hassle you've already had on eBay x100.
