iphone ringtones

i have just got myself a new toy, an iphone. And as far as i can see the only way to get a custom ringtone is by purchasing the tracks off of i tunes. Does anyone else know any other ways as help would be much appreciated.

download tones/music you want from frostwire or such sites FREE i've got a blue tooth dongle and just send straight to the phone.

as long as you havent bought the song off iTunes, or anywhere else, you can use it

some people (ahem) hack their iphones with jailbreak, then you can download loads of apps, ringtones and stuff for free.
(cycorder is a really good video camera app)
you can also file swap with your mac (pc?) over a wireless network, so you can transfer things such as video files you may have recorded.

but then the phone may spaz out from time to time as its running hacked software.

great.. but everytime you update something, you have to start all over again, and if youve registered it with apple, they do (ive just checked) have the power to stop your contract ..

i've tryed this but it doesnt work

as when i have the file on the desktop i "get info" is not an option when i right click

any ideas??

I have a crappy old Nokia. Guess what? I can go on the internet and find free ringtones with no problems whatsoever! And also I can send/receive MMS messages. The progress of technology huh. I think they have you 'trapped' in their captive marketing machinery, unless you want to blow the guarantee and become a phone nerd trying to unlock/disable/whatever it, etc.
