Insurance,any recommendations?

Its not for me.I have an '85 GTi cabby and am 60 years old so paying £85 on classic car insurance.I have a grandson who's 21 almost 22.He's fancying a cabby or tintop. He has one years NCD on his Saxo.I know there are many members with cars on here around his age.Could anyone please give me any ideas on the best(first of all price wise)places to ask for quotes plus an idea of how much you're paying?Any help would be graetly appreciated.
TIA
Mick

You should definitely try at Adrian Flux, they specialise in classic cars (amongst other things) and from what I know they're known to be quite cheap for that kind of car - Myself, I'm with Direct line, but that's only because I daren't move since the new insurance laws have been put in (I'm safe now if I just keep renewing my policy (I'm only 19 so it's bound to be expensive))

Amazingly, my insurance comes out at a very reasonable £500, yet I bought myself a fiat punto for a few months, and was astounded at the £196.50 PER MONTH premiums 8O

Also, have a quick look at Footman James (located in the ads on the left of this page) but I think they only deal with those older than 25.. :dontknow: could be wrong though.

Hope this helps Mick

only certain companies allow people younger than 25

i got my gti insured on a classic polisy with sureterm direct for £450

would be worth putting on a classic limited mile policy as this will lower the price :)
