Buy a ridiculous car like an Audi R8 or a new Golf R32 and a really cool series one Golf, then be an absolute bum for a year or so, clocking up a few trillion miles.
Oh, and get drunk a lot! (but not at the same time as clocking up miles!)

Then when I got bored of having nothing but cars, friends, girls and alcohol (maybe that'd take a bit longer than a year or so) I'd go to college and learn mechanics.

After that i'd buy a Unit and some classic cars incl. a Mk1 Golf project and an old Mini project.

Then at least i'd have something to get up for!

No long term plans; probably just enjoy all that until I met…the girl of my dreams… haha, then buy a big house and maybe open a garage or something. Employing people to do the work obviously, i'd be the suit and tie man.

So yeah, that's what i'd do!

First thing I'd do is buy a bus and drive round all day not picking anyone up. That'd sort the first few weeks for me. :y:

But I think that'll just be me on that one though. :dontknow:

Nice old farmhouse in rural Wales with some land, grow my own veg and keep some animals, nice big workshop and garage space filled with lots of classics, not just mk1's! always wanted a few british classics, old landy series 1(1948 80'')+2(1958 88''), jag mk2 (big 3.8 please!) and a few smaller ones austin a35, morris minor, mini cooper(original of course) and maybe an Rolls/Bentley for very very special occasions. would love to build a hot rod hearse based on an daimler chassis!!!

would buy a heck of a lot of mk1's, 1974 LS, 1976 gti(import it if neccesary), 1979 gti, 1980 S2 GTI, full blown resto on 81 gti, 1982 1.8 gti, campaign gti, Lhasa green gx, and a driver and maybe an 1100 as i miss my old 1 purely because it was a simple beast. would also get 1985 polo mk2 coupe sport in lemon yellow as again i miss my old one. 1959 samba bus, 1969 type 3 sportback, 1975 scirocco ts. oh and i'd get the missus a brand spanking scirocco mark 3 as she likes 'em! Learn how to weld buy lots of garage equipment, lathe, ramp etc etc…

Would keep my audi as a daily though as its a darn good'un!

Tom

Gone, but not forgotten;

1981 Mars red Golf GTI

I would keep my daily mk1, but have it fully restored and put a TDI in. Maybe get a brand new Scirocco as a stop-gap daily   I'd get a mint Mk1 GTI and split-screen camper aswell. Nice quiet house with garages and gardens and no immediate neighbours!   Few nice holidays, new hobbies and experiences. I wouldn't go mad with buying much else really because the rest would go to family.

I agree though! I'd get a rough beaten up old banger (taxed and legal) and park awkwardly, practically blocking in all the idiots who've done it to me over the years…
And go into a city centre nice and early, bag a really good parking space in a desirable spot and sit and read the paper and see how many people roll up and ask me if I'm leaving anytime soon!

pay off my debts and my familys debts.

get a nice house out of town with a barn to put my golf and the mrs bus in. buy an early mint mk1 gti.

spend a few weeks driving it around england, ireland, scotland and wales taking in all the sights and staying in nice cosy b&b's eating out at nice pubs and eateries sampling as many local beers as possible and having no cares in the world.

go amsterdam for a few days and chill out.

a week somewhere hot with amazing surf with a load of mates then home to spend endless days painting pictures and tinkering with cars/surfing and eating great food and drinking loverly beer.

in this day and age it would just be nice not to worry how safe your job is and if you can afford monster munch or is it going to be no-frills crisps again  :D

my trainers have a big hole in so i would replace those before anything mentioned above

funny this thread popped up as i bought my first lottery ticket this morning in ten years.
