I got punched by a woman!

I was at our local swimming pool with my boys in the men's changing room. Now some mothers have trouble reading the signs and just walk straight in to get their young sons changed. Now remember this is a public pool with men trying to get changed too. I and other men have complained to staff  and a notice went up a few weeks ago telling the women to use the ladies. Some still however insist in coming in anyway. I'll admit to being a bit testy yesterday and as a result confronted every woman that came in telling her she was in the mens  and asking if she thought it would be okay for me to go in the ladies and strip off? They all stood thought and left which is the right thing to do.

All barring one that is. This 'lady' decided it was her right to enter the mens and change her son as he didn't want to go in the ladies. Now this kid must have been five years old maximum! I explained she was in the wrong and instead of admitting it she started to scream and rant that it was none of my b usiness and I was just picking on her! I explained that she was the latest in a long list of women I'd approached and they had all seen the logic and left. This apparently meant that I was a bully, pig and arrogant.

At this point I started to see the funny side and laughed ex[plaining to my sons that it was okay and the lady obviously doesn't understand the difference between the sexes. This was a mistake because by this ime her head was like a beetroot and when my back was turned she punched me with all her might in the small of my back.

Now I'm not a violent man and at over 16 stone it would be a mistake to hit her back si I just rode it and told her we didn't punch people in this country as it wasn't a nice thing to do.

I've written a letter to the Swimming Club but what do you think I should do. I certainly don't want to go to the Police as I'd look stupid complaining about being assaulted by a woman, but the sight of their did being punched scared by boys and I don't want them to be scared of going swimming, that's just not right.

What would you do about it?

Womens lib, equality and diversity, equal opportunity for all etc etc

Should have decked her, its perfectly legal apprently according to 'Straw the law', heard him on telly a few days ago saying self defence is OK

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Dunno if I'd decked her but you can't let it lie and her to get away with it. Surely there's witnesses? Put to one side that it was a woman, get the club and possibly the Police involved, give her a bit of a run around with the Police too, etc. I imagine they won't press charges but should at least show an interest and maybe caution her, if the evidence from witnesses is all solid.

Major respect to you for not hitting her - autopilot or not, you did the right thing.

Why would you look stupid complaining about being assaulted by a woman? Esepcially if you're worried how your boys feel. Prove to them that they should stand up for themselves and do what's right, regardless of how it looks to anyone else. With any luck, you can get her banned from the pool and show your kids that your actions has made them feel safer at the pool.

What did you say to get her so angry that she hit you?

2 be belting a 16 stone fella she sounds like the sort of woman who drinks 15 pints of stella, eats donner kebabs with her fingers, flashes at bouncers and pukes in the taxi before doing a runner without paying!

i think u should borrow topoftherange's tazer, wait till you see her again and get her!! then explain to your kids that violence doesn't solve anything but in the country all the farmers use electricity to control cows!

I also think you should put aside the fact that she's a woman…it's still one person assaulting another, and persue it further to prove a point to your boys. If you'd hit her you'd never have heard the end of it! And if you'd ambled into the ladies' room I'm sure they would have had something to say. She sounds like she has a screw loose somewhere anyway :?

easy solution to this on strip off and start to dry yourself using the towel by one hand round your back place towel between legs and move it back and forwards paying lots of attention to your tackle that should put them off its a mans changing room that's what you would be expected to do  just wander round with nowt on no one can stop you doing that in a gents changing room.
as for the punch in the back just report her to the pool and tell them if they don't sort this out you will go to the police and the news papers that will do the trick also you could have her for being a peeping tom 8O

Dont ask what your club can do for you, but what can you do for your club?

Equal rights, surely if you did the same, you'd be in a nice cosy cell looking at a section 47 assault, call police and report it, plus your boys must have been terrified.
Or simply wait for her hubby, give him a good hiding, tell him your repaying the favor and tell him to keep his missus under control

  any woman who punches a man in front of children over something so petty is surely a mentalist!!! I had a glass thrown at me by a woman when i was 18, i hadnt done anything wrong and it smashed and cut my head open!!!! i didnt show quite the restraint you did   but i was young and she did have tattoos on her neck!!! rough as a badgers nadgers!
best report it to the pool and potentially the police who would probably treat it as a common assault if you had no vissible injury?
Its best to do those things as next week she might show up with some equally mental gorrilla and it could get out of hand! stand for your principle though mate and dont deprive your kids of their enjoyment by not going to the pool, its people in society who act like this that undermines our societys fabric by using violence and threatening behaviour to intimidate or hurt others………..
if all that fails knock her out!!

surely it would be illegal for a woman to me in out domain!!!!

if we went in the womans we'd get arrested for being a perv especially if we started hitting on them all from behind!

go swimming pool manager and report it get him/her to call police and see where it goes.

i bet she gets away with it the swimming pool and police tell you off for wasting time etc

its not right women and foreigners can get away with murder in this country.

i would have dangled my towel, spun it around and give her a jolly good whipping.

alternatively, there is the balaclava and chloroform method of retribution. i can lend you the appropriate equipment if you need it.

I did take the time to write a letter to the Pool Managers so I'll give them a few days to respond. I'll say this though, she better come in with an apology next week or at least a husband I can kick seven shades out of. I did tell her to make sure she brought her husband along next week.

Oh and rov' mate, she was a woman and a foreigner, Israel I think, with a superiority complex, typical.

Thing is we've been going there for a couple of years now and she's quite new, I'll move to get her banned if I can, she can't be allowed to get away with it, that's for sure.

What the hell was she thinking going into the mens anyway?  Sorry to hear about you getting thumped, not nice, especially in front of the kids.  Like the others say, dont let it lie.  Play with the mind rather than the fist

  Israeli huh..prehaps she thought you were a palestinian? 100 years of conflict in that country has obviously given the women more "balls" than western birds  the pool is lucky it hasnt been divided in half

I'm a foreigner in France. I was a foreigner in the UK. I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of racism, but probably to a waaaay lesser extent than someone from eastern Europe.

Perhaps it's quite normal in her country to share changing rooms with blokes. It's hard to accept other people's cultures when you see nothing wrong with your own. Brits do that too, you know. Some Brits I know have refused to wear speedos in the pools here in France. A family told me how disgusted they were that the owners of a restaurant let their dog inside with the diners (pretty normal here), so they complained to the owner and left in a huff. Other visitors have refused to go to toilets that aren't specifically for females (it's not the law here to have separate toilets - hell, one pub even has a urinal in clear view for all queuing for the toilet to watch).

It goes on and on: do you drink a pint even if the local standard is a half? Do you expect people to speak English when you're on holiday in a non-English speaking country?

Whilst I don't condone her hitting you, my point is that perhaps she's already trying to adjust to life in the UK. Perhaps in her country, like here in France, changing rooms are often communal, and it's hard for her to see what the big deal is. You said she was 'foreign'…maybe this came into what you said to her before she hit you? If it did, I don't blame her for hitting you. Racism sucks. If not, then forget her race and forget her sex and report it to the police!

Regardless of cultures beliefs or whatever, you dont go in mens toilets if your female and visa versa

Don't start the lets use racism excuse…

She was plainly in the wrong (and probably knew that too) and had no right to lash out that way in front of children.

If a man had entered the womens changing room in order to get his daughter changed for swimming then thumped the women that asked him to leave all hell would have broke loose & the man would no doubt have been carted away by the police….

Its not right & there's no excuse for her behaviour no matter how you try to justify it.

she obviously sounds like a brain donor

but this is probably  the best comeback you could have said

"we didn't punch people in this country as it wasn't a nice thing to do"

ha ha love it
