Dont look good,but i have aquired several 'chips' on my bonnet after the summer's driving  :cry:
maybe they work? anyone got a bra  8O ?

I can understand that if you've just spent ?2000 or whatever to respray a car for shows, you'd want to protect it from stonechips. See them a lot in show season.

I think they look cool.  And reckon they'd protect your bonnet.

No idea what the hooped ones are for on mk2s? hang your shirt?

i can see how they may protect your bonnett but wouldnt the rain just fill it up with water when it runs off bonnett then the bra stay wet where it fabric backed and cause rust or do you take it off when it rains

Think the 'bra' cars only go out in the dry  :dontknow:   :wink:

Lots of the American and Canadian cars wear Bra's for the simple reason to protect them stone chips

I have one on my mk4 and i think they look good on certain type and colour of car. But it simply an acquired taste like everything else.

I had one it looked cool but i would stay clear like the plauge I had my car all original paintwork in good nik and i wanted to keep it that way so i bought one pending a road trip to cornawall it was a hot day so the lid was down and the bonnett bra was on as i was motorway haulin after a 4 hour trip i got to cornwall removed my bra and all the paint was blistered and completly wrecked! Due to the heat of the black bra n engine Kinda ironic that it was meant to protect the just destroyed my bonnett!

Wouldnt have one myself as I dont like the look. If you leave it on in the rain the water will carry dirt under the bra and scratch the paint so only good fior dry days I would think :?

let me get this right you spend  ?2000 on a respray to make your car look good

you then cover it with a big sheet of black vinyl, and no one can then see the good paint job :eh:
