I'd just like to say..

I've had my Mk1 a year and a half now and been in the vw scene for a few years and I actually feel like part of a big family (I think a few of you will know what i mean!)

I think it's only fair praise is given where praise is deserved so a few things.

Steve & Wendy cheers for all your endless help and advice through everything over the last year (and lending me Eric - even if I never had chance to use him!)

Ralph (oldspice) for lending me his garage and time and we spent almost 12 hours polishing the car back to it's former glory!

Calvin & Anne (Drivebyshooters) known you guys a couple of months now, but that offer last night was a really nice jesture!

Everyone who has been coming to my regional meets over the last few months!

And everyone on here for keeping me motived for putting the endless hours into keeping this site running, cause it's seriously a huge job, but while your appreciating the site I'll keep going!

There's something big happening with the MK1 Golf this year and I'm really proud to be a part of it, in the last year and a half this site has nearly doubled it users and we're averaging 1million hits a month which I'm very very proud to be a part of - I'm sure you all are too!

I'm not going anywhere by the way, just thought it'd be nice for a few possitive words for a change!

Nice touch bud….. Only makes sense to focus on how well it's all going when there's so much depression around on the news, at home etc.

I joined last year and recevied an amazing response from everyone here.  The advice lead me to a peach of a car that I'm never going to get rid of.

A quick note on the changes I've noticed:-

* An increase in overseas viewers from SA, USA, Germany, Turkey, Australia and more - hopefully even a Bangladehi taxi driver if we can give him a card from what I saw on the site yesterday.. :dance:  it's amazing to be part of something helping keep mk1's going, both here but also reaching others all over the world

* An upturn in the regional meetings resulting in even more of a family feel.  I've only noticed this from reading the threads but it's noticeable by the increase in the replies too

* Exceptional discounts from even more businesses

* Younger users are more open to ask what they may deem as "silly questions" because I haven't seen any one person reply with a negative, dissmissive view… the younger generation are signing up, getting into cars, keeping the mk1 going and being effectively taught through here… it's brilliant for the vibe, the club, the younger generation and pushing the club forward  :clap: !!

It's seriously worth taking a step back and looking at other forums… we can all be proud of how open, honest, friendly and helpfull this site is!!

Billing was awesome and even though I was mk1-less it spurred me on to purchase my mk1 and attend the local MK meet you guys have set up

This guy is always on line, very technical and experience and I've always found him willing to help.  The quick responses are from many, many helpfull users here… paul's name is always in the mix  :wink:

The discounts for members are brilliant and cover a wide range of things.  I don't like to think of your phone bill but your work has really paid off!!!

The comittee's both past & present
All of you have got us to where we are today receiving new users from all over the world.  It's amazing that so much time and effort is put in VOLUNTARILY and the sacrifices that are made in doing this.

Everyone attending the MK meet
The missus and I have only attended one and missed one so far (due to snow) but it was a good night and hopefully it'll grow and we can do more as a regional pack.

There are more and I could go one but thanks to everyone for making this site something I'm addicted to… and something I can always call upon…  :clap:  :y:
