Hpi Report for ?15

My cousin works for a large firm in Insurance, he can get me a printed Hpi report for any car. for ?15 Posted.

if anyone wants one done. ill scan mine in and show you what it looks like. its a simple A4 page but tells you all the details.

Is this not just a print of a screen that these firms have access too?
I had one from the dealer I bought my Jag from.

Unless you actually pay the HPI company the ?30 and get their certificate for the vehicle, you are not covered by their terms which allow you to claim should your car be found to have finance owing or a dodgey history that they should have picked up…

Dont know , you probably know more than me, he works for Lombard. when they cover certain cars of provide services they have access to the HPi system.

checked both my cars. im just using it for extra documentation with my service history etc and piece of mind knowing its not been in  a clang.

For your own piece of mind - that's fine. But HPI offer insurance incase your car is repossesed because of finance owing on it, which they were not aware of etc. That is what your ?30 is for.

I was given the print out when I bought my jag. I was happy that there were no problems going to crop up (was an ex-lease car).

If your cousin is giving prints for ?15, then ?15 of that is most likely going straight in his pocket! Not sure Lombard would be too pleased either!!!
Just make sure anyone who is willing to pay him ?15 is clear that they are not getting the HPI protection as per the legitimate service!

i know someone who works in a finance company who can get them for ME for free.

basically theres a website on the net, which when you work in finance companys or insurance companys your given a membership and password so you can type in details for a car, and its free. sorry to say but your cousin is having a laugh, he can do them for free that 15 quid is going in his back pocket i can pretty much gaurentee that

My brother is the sales manager at a dealership, they get the full printouts for me for free… quite how I'm not sure. something to do with a subscription they pay and thus they get as many as they like for cars that get traded in. very useful I might add  :wink:
