Something around 30-40mpg depending on where you're driving it. I measured mine (hatchback though) a while back and it was 38mpg on a motorway run.

this is where the money goes.

 so 47.1p duty + 13.4p vat
goverment total= 60.5p ie approx 60% of fuel costs at the pump go to the goverment.
every time the cost of fuel goes up they gain with higher vat revenue.
well that's nice to know isn't it :x

Divweir, 50 miles for a tenner sounds like 20 mpg…ish?
Recently worked mine out aswell Rov, a fiver (for five litres at mo) gets me 100 miles for combined driving. I haven't even bothered with veg oil cos I don't really need to yet, financially…not worth the hassle of clogging up the system and struggling to start in winter (I might decide to if diesel prices double though!)

Mines a 1.8 GTI Cab. Costs me about ?47 for a full tank  and I get roughly 320/330 miles on a tank.

Something like 36/37 mpg?

Don't think that's bad for a 23 year old car. I don't exactly drive like an old lady either!!

I always run BP ultimate. Tried allsorts of others and it definitely runs best on that.
