How do we fix broken Britain?

Well any sugestions, are we too lenient on the people of today, should we bring back national service to give folks self discipline, should we bring back the cane and corporal punishment in schools, public birchings, stocks to bring shame on those who offend against society, ultimately the death penalty?

we should ask the public what they want and then act on it simple but no one in power ever does that.

to fix the country you'd have to make such radical changes that no has the balls to do.

Stop believing all the media hype, stop sitting on our thumbs and get involved.

Britain isn't broken it's just going through some growing pains.

There is no quick fix and no easy answers we all just need to work at it.

One of the biggest problems is lack of respect for others. It's not something you can legislate against. Another is the reality that having children is not a right.

Agree, too much trying to make everyone happy, rather than making some firm decisions to get people back on track.  Too many sheep in government,  and not enough leaders.

I think its too late to bring back the cane. It should never have been stopped from being used I reckon.

1, National Service
2, Public Floggings
3, Work for your Dole money or you live on Bread, milk, butter and that is it, like in Cuba.
4, Stop getting a free house and a load of benefits when 15 year old girl gets knocked up. Where I live its quite a popular thing to do!!! They'll soon stop spawning more chavs if they have nowt to benifit from it.

I read in the paper the other day a lady got fined ?700 for putting her rubbish out a day early. Then her son in law, or something like that, got fined ?80 and a year ban for KILLING someone for dangerous driving!    :dontknow:

it does reduce repeat offending.

half the people on death row in america are illegal imigrants that couldn't afford a decent lawyer and are more than likely innocent…..

i think for a start the punishment should fit the crime but thats not a new problem its been happening for decades. as was said before someone got fined ?80 for death by dangerous driving. 14 year ago my dad was killed by a bus driver not paying attention he got a ?150 fine and lost his job and that was it he didn't even loose his license.

If found guilty of Murder- Death buy hanging with a 1 year sentence to be served first just to appease the do gooders

Paedophiles- Hung Drawn and Quartered, after being publicly stoned tarred and feathered and forced to eat their own genitalia OR just shot in the face and dropped in the ocean, both have appeal

Burglars/robbers/thieves- Hand chopped off, easy to spot a repeat offender and very hard to hold a gun and bag of cash/scrap metal/priceless painting :wink:

Car theives- Foot chopped off, no one ever steals auto cars :wink:

People who go around assaulting people- Publicly flogged and made to break rocks in a Russian salt mine for 10 years

Junkies and general scroungers- sent to Afghanistan and Iraq to act as fodder and do the unpleasant tasks that could cost someone worthy of being a british subject their life, you know, mine clearance, checking buildings for booby traps

Dont think many would get through parliment? be nice if they did though

Definately a re introduction of Military Service....

Mmmmmmmmmm Military training naturaly makes you fit strong and aggresive/violent if un controlled

secondly our military is still the best in the world, feeding it with people who didnt want to be there would weaken our country defences
