when you remove the breather there is also a channel that is about 3mm that goes down to the sump that people know nothing about which if not cleaned out will give you problems. the best way to clean it out is use a welding rod or straighten a metal hanger and use this. also renew the breather hose as this will be perished and soft. if you have never done this before i suggest you give it to a specialist because the breathers are a dog to refit as there is no room to swing a hammer because you cant hit the centre only the ouside edges of the breather
good luck

Defo a blocked rocker cover breather. Is it fixed yet? :dontknow:

Unblock the breather or replace it….. check the oil level.

If there is engine wear you could get blowback.
A quick test is without a compression test is……on tick over remove the dip stick, put your hand over and check for excess chuffing.
Do the same with the rocker cover oil filler cap ( loosen and slowly lift up or there will be oil everywhere! )

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

have checked all that kins, and doesnt seem to be excessive engine wear. but havin trouble findin a part. apparently a 1300 engine is the same part.
