Hello to all :) and unsuprisingly advise is needed already!!
within the next week or so im looking to buy a mk1 golf gti 1.8 cabby. i have been buzzing about it for months now and it would seem like i have come to my first hurdle. ( and i don't even own the car yet )
see the situation is that the rear seat belts are only lap belts which are no good for my kids. upon research i have found that halfords sell a static 3 point belt that needs bolting in. so my question being, is this possible on a cabby and could i do an alternative job with retractable belts from a breakers? the main thing is that they are safe for my kids and also not damaging the car!
so all this said, what do you guys think? cheers dub fans, Ben

Cabbies have the lap belts fitted here but the 3 point ones were installed in the US spec ones. If you can get some of the parts from the US they need to be welded at the rear suspension turrets.
