Heads up...magazine article

4 Page article in 'Classics' magazine.

Apparently they are running a series on cars that changed motoring history. Land rover last time… next, the Mk1 Golf GTI.

They needed a standard looking mk1 GTI in good condition (not black or white) in Kent at short notice (i.e. tomorrow) 8). Thought I might help them out with that . Anything to stop more appearances of that monstrous carbuncle that VW is always wheeling out!

More details when I get them.

Cheers,

Drew.

Hehe….. Kent eh? If you can say where I'd be interested to pop along (assuming its not too far) and see what they get up to on one of these things…..

Don't think I've seen that mag before either - have to check it out in WH Smiths next time I'm in there!!!

ChrisB.

Its a good mag, one of the better ones. Down to earth classics of the 50's to 80's. Its not one of these Supercar loaded ones that some folk dream of owning.

Worth getting - I've subsribed to it. :D

Thanks Adolf - I'll check it out. I usually buy the odd "Classic Cars" or "Classic and Sportscar", plus Practical Classics, but thats about as far as it goes.

Drew - when is the article coming out? Been buying Classics for a year or two now. V good magazine lots of 60/70 and 80 classics plus lots of european cars as oppossed to the agricuturally engined british sportscars that seen occupy every classic mag. Would say Classics is starting to better Practical Classics (which after a good 5 or so years has started to get BMC obsessed again).

Cheers

Yeah, I have to agree on Practical Classics - good for the occasional equipment review, but they do seem to feature more and more BMC stuff these days… a few more VW / BMW / Alfa type restos would be good….
