Has anyone seen this Mk1 on Ebay?

Hi all,

There is a Mars Red Mk 1 on Ebay at the moment. I am going to see it this lunchtime, but would appreciate any comments if anyone knows the car.

Looks very nice, check through all the service history to substantiate the mileage. Like the fact they have stated… 'successful bid payment in cash after full inspection and test of vehicle'… sounds fair.

Good to see someone selling a car realistically on Ebay. I am, sure a lot of those 're-listed due to timewaster' auctions don't tell half the truth. Wonder how often the timewaster is actually the seller giving misleading description of the vehicle, leading the buyer to back out when he turns up and sees the reality of what he has bought?

I am always sceptical about the true mileage of mk1s because of the problems I've had with the mileage counter on the speedo sticking a lot.  In my experience if there is a problem you won't know about it until you do a long drive and then notice it hasn't been turning and it's not the sort of problem that people want to get fixed.
More important though is that the car fells and goes well, always try to get under the car to check the chassis and ask for past mot fail/advice sheets to get a good idea of whether there is a problem about to rear its head at the next mot.

I would question the need for a respray if it has done only 50K???

Bodywork warranties are time not mileage related.

Anybody on here buy it, it went for ?2.5k
