Has Anyone Else Noticed???

hey everyone iv noticed quite alot while watching road wars, traffic cops, police camera action etc... that an aweful lot of the getaway vehicles are vw golfs, anyone else notice this???

Just watched 'em chase a white Mk2 on Road Wars  
And nick a couple of dodgy geezers in a Corrado who'd evaded the Met  8O

Even the crimmo's have taste!  :mrgreen:

lol im know must just be the car of choice for the crims like you say good choice but not when there gettin caught and smashin them all up!

when you remember that most getaway cars are stolen, this is not a good thing for vw's

Mk1s are really easy to get into as we all know,get plenty of security :wink:

Correct me if i am wrong but they seem to have a bad boy image….

Years ago i was stopped in my 1.1 MK1 golf……

I find a lot of people with an untrained eye assume any Mk1/Mk2 Golf is a GTI believe it or not…and that leads to more reasons to pull over, suspect a bad-boy etc  

Need I say more??  Yes, yes I do.  This was family's second one, so upset it was sold after.  1st one, my mam broke down, returned the following day to a ripped roof and broken steering column!!  Obviouly it went no where, so it cost us a bomb and they didn't even get a decent spin out of it!!

best i get some security for mine. i suppose taking off the external door handles would be enough to scupper them

There is a few mk1's with remote central locking only and no handles.  Wouldn't be too good though if their electrics went.
