guages

Hi all.

At the weekend my rear view mirror decided to fall off and whilst doing so it hit the centre console and i discovered three holes that i didnt know were there these being for the additional gauges i guess.

Could you tell me if the gti ever had these as standard also where i can get these gauges from and are they easy to fit.

hello, as far as i know they were optional extra's oil temp, oil pressure, clock , water temp, voltage . i don't know how easy they are to fit. you can still get original used of ebay ect. but they fetch good money. i have some in mine , look good . i'm in chesterfield , might have a set for sale, just not sure what to ask for them ?

Oil temp gauge was standard on all non-MFA GTis (1.6).

Analogue clock was standard on all Series 1 GTis (pre'80 Model Year).

Otherwise they were a dealer accessory only.

will do mate, do you know any other mk1 owners a round here ? do you need any other bits ?

Dont really know of any others although i do see a few around. I need a grille if you know anyone who may have one mine has broken around the headlamp.

got one here, mate which side or do you need the whole grill, single or double ?

I neen the hole grille mate it one piece. Currently its twin head lamp.
