got any handy hints or top tips ?

ok so i'm bored on my day off. just been tinkering in the engine bay, found remains of a can of cavity wax so i deciced to use it up around the sunroof drainholes/ guttering.( i have already done all the inner panels ect ) anyway pleased with the idea i have slowed down any future corrosion thought it seemed a good idea to share . so if you have any little tips you can post them here. best top tip will get a free beer compliments of me at gaydon.

Search for my top tip for warm hands by improving your heater/ventilation pipes…this is the best thing I've ever done on a Mk1…seriously! No more driving in gloves!

Here's a couple…

Handbooks are still available for late cabriolet's for under ?3 from VW.

The proper wheel nut cap removal tools are still available from VW for about 80p - Stop using pliers! Part number: 8D0 012 244 A

Set of genuine mats for a cabrio are about ?25 from VW.

Don't buy top mounts from GSF - they only last 6 months of use before the gap between rubber and metal open up and they start clonking. Get Febi ones cheap from www.vwspares.co.uk

if you need a funnel and havnt got one ,for draining fuel tank or anything really


get a 4 pint milk carton cut the bottom off ,then get the filler pipe from a plastic fuel can and screw it onto the thread of the milk carton


fits perfect

lol nice one but you could get a funnel from the ? shop for less than the milk!

its actually free because youve got to buy the milk any way

Get your car painted at a proper bodyshop not main dealer!!!!
