Golf GX value...
I have a question - what is a basic valuation range for a golf GX in mint condition (i.e. perfect bodywork and unmodified exterior/ interior styling, perfect interior (carpets and upholstery not torn etc) and a well tuned, serviced engine etc without all the normal choke problems etc?
I understand that the GX is a rare model, which would make me think that to the right person it is worth a reasonable amount.
Mine has just over 123,000 on the clock. I am the second owner, and the first owner kept a full service history and had the car garaged for the best part of its life when not in use.
Any ideas welcome!!!
Cheers,

A really mint one with flawless paint/body, low miles, history, etc might fetch ?1500. Yours sounds like ?1000 - ?1300. They don't fetch anywhere near GTi prices unfortunately and are very under rated. I would hang on to it if I were you and enjoy a great car with low running costs.
I sold mine which was pretty good nick body wise but needed a fuel tank flush for ?800 over 10 years ago.

I bought the car from a family in Dunblane in July 2004. It had been garaged there for 3 years but MOT'd every year bar one, when it was declared SORN. It covered about 50 miles in those 3 years. Proir to that, the car had lived in East Anglia (nice and dry) where it was garaged. The car strictly has 2 previous owners on the logbook, but it was bought by mum, then transferred to daughter, and stayed at the same address until it moved up to Dunblane.
The car is totally standard, but has the addition of VDO gauges and Pirelli P-Slot wheels, added because the steel wheels were past it.
It is missing the chin spoiler, but I'm getting that fitted, and its getting a respray in original colour (meteor silver) in a few weeks. It has next to no rust to speak of, apart from the passenger door.
It is currently MOT'd until June 2006, and will be given further tax when this one runs out.
I'm not thinking of selling, but when you consider I picked it up for ?100 it's not money after bad!
The interior carpets are immaculate, and the upholstery has no tears at all. The rear parcel shelf is also in excellent condition.
Strangely, this is my 2nd GX, the first one being A58 XSC, which was sold to a friend in March 2001. It was written off on the M6 3 weeks later.
I was understandably gutted!
Anyway, this one is going to be a going concern and will be in daily use.

Passed its MOT too a week or so later - not bad going. Received its first full service last month and a full MOT - New front springs, new rear brake hoses and new exhaust back box.
Now in daily use.
