genuine front wings

On Ebay at the moment.  Just wondering if they belonged to anyone here or if anyone was bidding for them?

Sorry dont know how to but they are up to 60quid each now.  Are all mk1 front wings the same?

At ?60.00 each .How much are they from VW ????

?60 each! - they were only ?20 a couple of hours ago. Looks like this auction could end in tears   . Think genuine ones are ?75 each minus VAT. Bearing in mind that postage is listed at ?15 a wing, might as well order them directly from VW.

Are the ones that you can get from VW the pre-'86 Cabriolet ones? - If they are the '86-on ones, they'll have holes for repeater indicators, which you may not want, and even later ones ('90-on?) will have a different hole for the bumper end of the Clipper-style ones.

If VW only do the later types, and these ones are the early ones, they may be worth the money, but only if you really have to be "original"…

I bought a set from VW. They have no holes at all. There is only a slight punch marking for the bumper clips.

I did a lot of work on mine back in 1996 and from memory genuine wings were ?112 + vat each then. I used pattern ones, they do the job but are not a patch on the originals.

Been to my local VW dealer to collect -

New front struts item 171 412 031 at ?31.00 each {cheap for what you get especially when you consider that just the insert from GSF are ?18.95 each}
Two disk brake back plates item 171 615 311 at ?18.26 each {expensive}

Ordered 2 front wings ?76.13 each comes to ?178.91 all in the pair .
They do not have side indicators or bumper cut outs .

I dont think thats bad for the pair and at least you can still get them

Need new front wings, but been looking out 2nd hand ones due to cost. Think I'll have to order some new ones from VW while they still sell them.
