Feel sorry for this guy!!!

went past this guy in his ratted camper this afternoon, camper looks awesome but didnt manage to get a good pic, he had been pulled over by two police cars and when i went back past about 30 mins later the camper was getting ready to be taken away by a low loader, was in the mk1 and the guy saw me and gave a wave lol

wonder why he been pulled ?

There's only a few reasons why the police can take away a car:

- no insurance
- driver not licenced

If it unsafe to be driven on the road of course,or stolen from a rat look convention    

must be deemed unroadworthy,

if you were driving a rat like that you would expect to get tugged.
so surely noone would be as stupid to drive it without the correct docs.

when mines done i think i'll be going out with all mydocs, just incase i do get tugged i can clear it up quickly.

Half way through you were making sense, then you mentioned documents! Its not about docs at all, its about roadworthiness!!!! This means even with insurance, mot, tax, licence, proper registration etc, if the car is (or appears to be) unroadworthy, they can seize it!!!!!!!!! Nothing to do with the docs!!!!!

just, if you have papers to show them they would have less reason to suspect anything dodgy.

Maybe whatalotafun can provide a certificate to show its not too low?

surely TOO low would be other parts touching the floor. (not tyres).

and i'm sure if it had gone through an mot like it. it should be legal for the road, and he should have a good leg to stand on.

Would I be right in thinking 6inches from the floor is the minimum clearance?,Having said that Im sure weve all seem motors with exhausts not secured correctly almost or indeed scraping on the floor.

Cheers, read up to page 10 (out of 66 and counting) and lost the will to live. Summary so far:

Tyre rubs on bodywork, was warned 3 months ago, didn't fix it, got impounded
