Fairwell to my mk1!!!

I've just stood and watched my mk1 drive off down the street with its new owner

Its a sad evening for me, but maybe i'll have a another mk1 at some point in the future!

As i no longer have the golf i probably won't be spending as much time on here in the future.

I've always been more of a reader rather than a poster on this site, But you guys (and girls) have always helped me out when i've needed it. I've spent many a happy hour on the forum, so i suppose the purpose of this post is just to say thanks and fairwell for now!

As long as it's gone to a good home and a future member of the mk1 oc.

I'm sure it wont be long before another mk1 graces your drive way, Good luck :D

Its gone to a lovely young lady called rachael. She said she was a member on ed38. I recommended this place so I'm sure she'll be on here soon enough!

No need! Why did you sell it? And how long do you reckon you'll last without one?

I know the feeling!!

I had the exact same feeling on Friday!

Put my near mint mk1 driver up on E38 for a feeler to gauge intrest?, 15mins later someone rang to buy it, paid the full asking price, and within 3hrs of putting the ad up it was gone!!!

But as soon as it was sold I had a hole burning in my pocket with cash, and I went straight on ebay and by Sunday night had the car of my dreams adorning my drive way a 1983 mk1 Pirelli Edition golf!!  :D

And once again im happy!!!

I just fancied a change, I went from an '99 820vitesse turbo with all mod cons to the '83 mk1 which has next to nothing, which at the time didn't really bother me. I just want something a little more refined for a while. As i said on my ad it was a reluctant sale. If had the space and money to keep it as a second car I would have done! I think i'll miss the go-kart like handling most, and the character of an old car!
