Documentation required for SORN Declaration

Hi,

Could anyone tell me what documentation is required to declare a car SORN?

I've just bought myself a Mk1 GTi (v.v.v. cool 1.6 with original everything - pics to come once I know how!) but anyway, the car is currently not declared SORN as it was off the road prior to the new legislation coming in.

Currently the car is still registered to the previous owner, although the V5 tear-off slip is on its way to the DVLA, so technically I don't own it, but it is mine and it's parked outside my flat (in the private car park).

Anyway, I'm crapping on unnecessarily here… I'm sure someone knows the answer!

take the v5 to the po or the new owner section and they will sort you out

Was a bit concerned cos usually you need your insurance, V5, and a note from your mum before they'll do your tax!

you can also download the form of the dvla site !

and just fill it out with your detail and post it….. et voila !
