What about a single lamp grille with, say, rectangular fog lamps mounted under the bumper?

I'm not a fan of after market lamps fitted to under the bumper.

Neither am I. I wouldn't mind a bit more light, but I don't want to fit any extra lights. I suppose I should buy some better bulbs or something, but I have far more pressing things to worry about….

Get a upgraded headlamp loom Paul.
I have one fitted with 100w bulbs. 8)
The best mod you can do. The difference is amazing. Miles better than standard twin lamp too!
I really recommend either buying one or making one.

Paul,
I've uprated my loom with relays and put in normal 55/60w xenon bulbs and the difference is incredible. also check the refectors as they do degrade.
Dipped beam is allot better with the upgrade, which was my stcking point when driving home in traffic/rain etc.
