Diesel Power

Just wondering if anyone on here has a resto/modded diesel power mk1, is it posible to fit say the engine from a mk4 GTTDI or simlar, giving good tourqe and good power and returning a good mpg,

does this equal to a good car:

mk1 3dr
modded diesel engine

and all the other obvious parts,

as i understand diesels can produce good power/tourqe figures and with the minimal weight of the mk1, can this be as good as a modded gti etc…

Easy swap,no ecu  8)  just a AAZ 1.9 TD with T3 garrett,modified aneroid pin,pump timing at 1.0mm lift,and standard fueling,can be upped but its nippy enough for me  :wink:
