Didnt realise Mk1 owners were so stuck up.

I've had my Mk1 now for about 3 years, took a while to find the right bits and pieces, and its still stuck in my garage in the same condition I started, just full of parts that I will one day put on the car.
Well my mate came across a Mk2 Scirocco, mint interier which will fit a Mk1, nice Pirreli P slots which will fit the Mk1, Engine that pulls like a train which will fit a Mk1. etc etc
So I thought i'd stick an ad on here as its going cheap (proper cheap) and low and behold it was removed, thats the last time I try to help anyone out with parts, and to that effect I'm gonna scrap my Mk 1 Gti Cabriolet, and get it crushed.
I know its not a Mk1 but it was surely relevent to someone who is rebuilding one.
we are gonna scrap the Scirocco as well, so at least it'll be another VW off the road.

First of all, there's no need to post language like that, especially as this is a family friendly forum!

Also, i cant help but think that you're going to crush what sounds like a perfectly good car, on the basis that you dont like the fact that your thread was deleted.

Had you read the rules on the forum it clearly states:
All ads MUST relate to the Mk1

In conclusion, If you bothered to come down on that high horse you're so happily riding around on, you will have realised that your thread was deleted because it didn't comply with the rules, yet because you, of course, are right and we, of course, are wrong; you think that crushing your car will somehow make an effect to which we all will regret.

Don't be put off the mk1 scene by this, most of us are fine.

If you have a genuine grievance may I suggest you contact a member of the Committee or one of us Mods. Please however bear in mind that the Club is run for the equal benefit of ALL MK1 Golf owners and at no stage is any favouritism shown. All users be they full paid or forum users are treated equally and have to abide by the rules posted at the start of every forum.

On a personal level if you want to crush your cars that your perogative so by all means go ahead but do take some pics and don't forget to post them up, shame to see any car crushed but there ya go, your call.

Wow your guna scrap the car just so theres one less vw on the road just because your post was removed bit extreme really and then to brand more or less every one with mk1's stuck up. We are a freindly bunch well most of uf us, don't think its all of us with a problem  :x ………….
 
EEErrrrrrrr think you should be looking at complaining to the right person and not moaning to us all or look at posting the car up some where else or starting a thread about the car in general chat and directly putin in sale bit.

its that sort of comment thats gives the mk1 club a bad look. hence why i dont hang out with the mk1 gang at shows any more or go to mk1 meets. May be the Scirocco should be advertised as spares suitable for a mk1?? I still have my mk1 and love coops010_1 dont scrap it because of some forum   nerds and the rest of yer learn to love all others vdubs. O i might post some non mk1 golf vdub pics later.

Nobody is obliged to sign an alligance to VAG in general, I personally love lots of different car makes including other VAGs but this is a MK1 Golf site so I generally leave the other cars I'm passionate about to the relevant forums

As much as the OP has had a major toy/pram malfunction, there is a bit of a point to be had that pretty much everything he listed is more than useable in a mk1. I don't know the content or style of the advert, but surely if it has been written as a collection of mk1 useable parts rather than an advert to buy a rocco it should be fine?

OP: if you'd have just PM'd a mod to ask how to better word the advert rather than getting riled on the open forum, chances are they'd be accomodating. As for threatening to crush a car just to spite the other owners of said car because 1 of them bothered you - that's an immensely immature attitude to anything, really, and doing something specifically to spite someone is a bad effort. Besides, if you really want to spite mk1 owners you should sell the cars; that way, at least you get some of their money.

edit: just read Tian's post, and he's pretty much confirmed what I was wondering in my first paragraph.
