they are likely made using ink cartridges that are compatable with another make printer. tried taking out the cartridge and matching with another brand? how much is expensive btw?

how olds the printer?

they were based on lexmark jobbies but altered just enough to force you to buy dell (restictive pratice which is illegel) go buy a new printer (can get a lexmark or epson for dirt cheap these days)

to be honest, i've not yet bought an ink cartridge. always thrown the old printer away and bought a new one. last one i got has scanning/photocopying and photo quality, for ?30.

I always buy my replacement cannon cartridges from "Inkmasters" they are based in Blackpool they do hundreds of different brand replacement ink cartridges and are VERY cheap and free postage too :D

was watchin the gadget sow the other night and they picked up a almost new printer from pc world from the bargain bin for ?20!

Bloody throwaway society, I loathe it. It's just plain wrong when the cartridges cost more than the printer. It hardly encourages care for the environment, does it? And here we all are doing our bit for the planet by keeping classic cars like the Mk 1 going on 2nd hand and wombled parts.

Buy an Epson, the cartridges are cheaper than the printer and they can be properly recycled.
