Damn it's good....

Is it me, or is the Mk1 Golf just fantastic to look at?

My driveway looks like this at the mo… My wifes passat, my daily driver audi, grannies Toyota Yaris and my Golf.

It's the Golf that draws the attention from everyone, it's enjoyable just looking at it….

Cheers,

Drew.

I work for Volvo and can see mine out of the window at the moment. It's sat in a car park with 20 - 40k motors but is by far the best looking and I do see people looking at it as they walk past.

I work for Volvo too, and all employee's cars parked in the customer car park will be clamped! (but I agree, it's the best car in there) :)

Look how the Toyota 'super mini' dwarfs the MK1 8O

I could happily sit behind this all day…sometimes flash past to look at the front end in the mirror, but soon drop the GTI back again….

…beats that French toymaker's stupid a** anyday.

Must admit Drew, It looks great! It's strange isn't it! I look at that photo of your drive with all 4 cars and even though the mk1 is only a fraction of the value of the others, you forgive it that don't you! The charisma and the fact that it is old and by now really shouldn't be there, yet it still looks so good, means that it is no longer judged as a status symbol of what you can afford or how sucessful you are, you can just appreciate it for what it is…..On it's own!
If anything the others make it look even better!  :)

The Yaris is a tiny bit shorter in actual fact, but quite surprisingly wider and much taller.

If it were up to me she'd be inside a double reinforced oxyegen tent with 4 immigrants constantly washing and waxing it. Like I said usually leave it at home but had to take the cat to the Vets today. What time are you heading to Podd on sun? Think we're gona try and get there pretty early although if the weather really sh1te then we prob won't bother

you can't say use immigrants in those terms these days!

we are all very politically correct.

instead say "four indefinate tourists…."

Reminds me of something my late Grandmother once said to me! She said, "Son, it's not the size that counts……It's the taste!" Not sure exactly what she meant until just now!…..She was a lovely lady!  :D

I didn't mean Immigrants in a derogatary demeaning sense. I purely meant that because they haven't been currupted by our MTV instant microwave Pizza way of life that they still have a good strong work effort therefore making a better job of polishing my car than I ever could. back bone of the country I say.
