Courier Warning

Hi everyone, Just a warning about the courier company Paisley Freight. They are alot cheaper than other companys which is why i used them. But they appear to be abit of a con. I had a delivery collected when i asked which was good but then they didnt even attempt to deliver it despite marking down on the tracking that they were trying to deliver, but actually they just took it to there depot until the buyer got back in touch asking whats happened, and they then lied to us by saying they tried to deliver but there was know one at home..   The buyer is 100% sure they didnt try to deliver or even leave a note to say they did either, so what you end up doing is paying them twice for delivery!  :x The phone line is really bad aswell, u get know where with them, they say they will call you back and they never do etc.

So anyway its just a heads up for everyone. Id stay well clear.

Pete.

I've received a delivery from them absolutely fine before.  To be honest though, I don't think there's any courier who hasn't had a bad thing said against them.  For example my last experience of Interlink was appalling, and I've have bad experience with Royal Mail, Parcel Force and UKMail.

This is very true and can be applied across a multitude of suppliers and businesses. Always best to speak to the company and give them a right to reply.

I use parcel monkey to get the roof stuff sent out, they so far have been spot on. They are a broker I suppose.
They have used City Link as the Courier. The Driver has to scan the item and sign and date the docket to prove he has collected. Gives a peace of mind and I allways insure to the Value of what's being sent. A good selling point when you send stuff out especially as the parts are not cheap.

My postie is fine, and I've also had no particular problems with any couriers. Maybe its a regional thing?

Luckily my postie's have been excellent in all my years, it does help giving them a pressie for say xmas and a card as a thank you for their services wink wink.
Mine even post recorded items striaght through aslong as they fit in letterbox, i know naughty but it does boil down to how you deal with them.
As regard parcel delivery i got sick of RY and PF due to there ridiclous prices so started using Parcels2go and choose which courier of which i can say surperb since when i started using them first time 6 month ago.
I have use MYHERMES, TNT & CITYLINK via the P2go site til now and no issues.
But thanks for the heads up fella, appreciated

I recently bought some service parts from AVS Car Parts and that turned into a farce similar to what you have described Peter.

It turned out the delivery driver had been going to the wrong house and had been carding that house instead of mine. I therefore had no idea that they had tried to deliver on 2 occasions and that the goods were awaiting collection from the depot.

I wouldn't suggest that a courier is scamming anyone though.

I send quite a lot of stuff all over the world and have found Parcel2Go really good.

I always find that TNT comes out as the best value and the drivers have to sign to say they have collected the particular item. You also have the ability to track your parcel online as its in transit (or other commercial vehicle!)

i can relate to a50py story, he said it was cos there was no car on our drive so assumed no one in, city link  has been the best so far, i have heard him knock by the time i got to the door he had got back in van and half driven off, space off 20 secs that was, i rung city link explaned to them what driver done, pretty much called me a lier, it takes longer then that to write out the sorry we missed you card, which i had not even had threw the door, so i went to the depot and had it out with the manger, got my fuel reinburst and apoligies,

another company was delivering a item from usa they would not deliver till i paid customs, i argured it was gift etc they got quite jerky about it so i went to there depot and opened it front off them to prove it was not a expensive item or a customs dodge, they really good with me i got tin off rosies fuel cost and £20 towards a meal as there depot was 4-5hr round trip, to be fair not quite there fault as seller did not respond to them or mark clearly what item inside was

i've had bad times with postage companys but if you can prove them at fault they will bend over backwards to make it up
